Trashing the dress

According to the New York Times, the trend of trash the dress began around 2000 by Las Vegas based wedding photographer John M. Cooper who was inspired by fashion photography , where sometimes juxtaposing beautiful couture garments on a setting that may seem out of place can bring power to an image.

Many photographers have adopted the idea of this trend and mixed it with many different  styles and backgrounds.

Opinions for and against this twist on traditional wedding photography will always be there, but it is your day. The most important thing about your photos is that you are happy with them. And keep in mind, if you decide to book a trash the dress session, it doesn´t always mean that your dress is literally going to get trashed.
